"Cap Disconnected" on the display
VOLTA can't detect the top cap. Usually a contact or seating issue.
If VOLTA starts heating and then stops with "Cap Disconnected" on the screen, the device has lost its connection to the top cap. The battery level doesn't matter here. This is a contact issue, not a power issue.
Check the cap is seated
- Power VOLTA off and let it cool completely.
- Remove the top cap and set it back on, then tighten it fully.
- Power on and start preheat again.
Check the contact pins
- Power off, let VOLTA cool, and remove the battery.
- Remove the top cap and look at the contact pins on the underside of the cap plate and the matching contacts on the device.
- If you see residue, molasses, or discoloration, wipe the contacts gently with a dry cotton swab. Don't use water, and don't scrape the pins with metal tools.
- Let everything dry, reassemble, and try again.
Still showing the error
Submit a ticket with "Cap Disconnected" in the subject. Include a photo of the contact pins on the cap plate and your order number. A cap or contact fault within the warranty period is covered. We'll send a replacement cap.
