Creating and editing heat presets

Updated May 18, 2026·By ShishaX Support

Build multi-stage heat profiles in the app, with separate Cap (Top), Side, and duration values for each stage.

Heat presets are reusable heating profiles. Each preset has up to 5 stages, and each stage has its own Cap (Top) temperature, Side temperature, and duration. Use presets to dial in different setups for different tobacco types and bowl packs.

The default presets

Every new VOLTA ships with a few default presets, each tuned for a different style of session. You can use the defaults as-is, edit them to your taste, or delete them. They behave like any other preset.

Adding a new preset

  1. Open the Presets tab in the app.
  2. Make sure the right device is selected in the dropdown.
  3. Tap Add Preset.

A new preset called "Preset N" appears with placeholder content. Maximum 10 presets per device.

Renaming a preset

  1. Tap the pencil icon on a preset card.
  2. Edit the title and description inline.
  3. Tap Save.

Editing preset stages

This is where the real tuning happens.

  1. Tap Edit settings on a preset card.
  2. The Preset Editor shows up to 5 stages with their current Top, Side, and Duration values.
  3. Tap a stage to expand its sliders:
    • Cap (Top) temperature. 50°C to 360°C.
    • Side temperature. 100°C to 250°C.
    • Duration. 1 to 30 minutes per stage.
  4. Below the stage list, Session Overview sums the total minutes.
  5. Tap Save Settings to apply.

Deleting a preset

Tap the trash icon on a preset card. The preset is removed immediately.

Tips

  • Use shorter, hotter early stages and longer, cooler late stages to extend bowl life
  • Match the total preset duration to your typical session length
  • Build different presets for different bowl types or tobacco brands rather than constantly tweaking one
